Fellowship Louisville values children as uniquely gifted individuals who are an integral part of our church community. As such, we desire to foster in the children a deep understanding of who Christ is in scripture, how He works in their lives, and how they should respond to Him. Through participating in Fellowship Kids classes, Sunday services, church events, prayer, and serving in outreach ministries, we aim to have our children learn to use their gifts and passions for the good of the body and the enhancement of their faith.
Partnering with Parents
We believe parents have the primary privilege for the discipleship of their children (Psalm 78:1-8). Our desire as a church is to encourage, equip, and walk along side parents in this process of growing our families in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ. We encourage parental involvement in the classroom as well as other teachers who love and pray for our children.
1. Student to Teacher Ratios. At FCL we care about the safety of your kids. All of our classrooms are adequately staffed with the following ratios:
|Age||Child to Adult Ratio|
2. Background Check and Training. All of our teachers and volunteers are trained and have had criminal background checks done to further check into the legitimacy of who they are. We encourage parents to volunteer in kids classrooms as well as people of all ages to help, pray, and love on the kids at Fellowship.
3. Secure Check-In System. We have started a new security check-in system to help in the safety of the drop-off and pick-up of each and every kid from a visitor to one of the pastors kids. We are excited about kidcheck (more info can be found on www.kidcheck.com), this system is allowing for a smooth, safe, and secure check-in for all of our classrooms. It also helps us track and keep up with volunteers and kid/volunteer ratios during the service.
We are currently using Lifeway’s The Gospel Project for Kids as the curriculum for the 2yr olds- 5th grade students.
The Gospel Project for Kids invites kids of all ages to “dive deeply into God’s story of redemption through Jesus Christ. In every lesson, participants are immersed in the gospel and learn how when the gospel works on them, they become a part of the story, too, the very hands and feet in God’s gospel project”.
We are excited to teach the kids of Fellowship Louisville about the story of God’s redemptive plan to rescue His people from sin and death- the gospel message of Jesus Christ! As we work through this 3-yr curriculum our students will go chronologically through the Bible and see how the Gospel is interwoven in every story!
What about Children in the Church Service?
We realize that some families prefer to have their children in the church services with them. Although we encourage families to take advantage of Fellowship Kids, we also want families to feel the freedom to operate according to their conscience. Therefore, your children are most welcome in our morning service.
